The Virgin Mary
by Rudolph Bostic
Enamel on board
20" x 22 5/8"
More Pieces: 123
Bostic’s portrayal of the Virgin Mary places her in a center panel with two angels hovering nearby. She shows a contemplative look recalling for us the passage in the Gospel of St. Luke where he tells us how “she kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.” Typical of Bostic’s paintings, he has included a wide boarder filled with more angels circling the Virgin figure.
