Christ rises from sleeping with his disciples on a boat to calm the waters of the Sea of Galilee. Bostic has envisioned the Christ figure looming larger than life as he stretches out his arms to command the seas to be calm. Christ’s stance reminds us of the when he will stretch forth his arms on the cross to bear the sins of the world.
